Venice

Venice is an excellent destination if you are looking for a good mixture of shopping, culture, relaxation and excitement. Many people think Venice is quite expensive, however if you look at the most popular sites to see and tourist attractions you will see that they are generally free, or if not, cheap to enjoy. A very grand site is the Piazza St Marco in St Marks Square which has your typical grand buildings, monuments and swarms of tourists mixing in well with the locals. The main parts of Venice are overpriced generally, however if you take a trip onto the back streets there are some gems to be found where you can enjoy the local cuisine for a snip of the price. If you’re feeling in the mood for shopping you can visit the Mercerie shopping streets, Campo San Stefano, in fact everything in the San Marco area is worth a look. Visit the vast number of churches for some beautiful architectural sights, spend time on the waterbus going down the Grand Canal and also visit the main waterfront, and why not have a cocktail at one of the many bars and restaurants on offer. Venice is packed full of attractions and is recommended for a fun packed city break.
