The most obvious one being that camping is much cheaper than going abroad for your summer holiday. All you would have to buy is your provisions (this is assuming you already have a tent and all the equipment including your sleeping bag). As I am a city girl myself (as opposed to a country girl) I am not the best camper in the world – I like having a comfy warm bed. Nonetheless, camping is a great way to get to know your friends and bond over the camp fire with some warmed up marshmallows and some beer!

However I have to say there is a lot to be gained from getting back to nature! Admittedly I can only manage a few nights camping, however in my opinion it can be a really fun and enjoyable experience if you go with a large group of friends in the summer months and simply enjoy the beautiful countryside that your local area has to offer. Its relatively cheap and it you are willing to “rough it” –I would certainly recommend it!
